Laboratory Manager

Tecomec is looking for a Laboratory Manager with experience in testing and validating mechatronic and mechanical devices to join its Research and Development department. The company is continuously expanding and is committed to constantly improving its processes through research, experimentation, and refinement of technical solutions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Definition of Testing Methodologies: Develop and define testing methodologies that extract useful data and insights to enhance the company's product knowledge.
  • Product Validation: Be responsible for product validation, streamlining data from designers, and defining test methods, equipment, and procedures for component validation.
  • Equipment Development and Planning: Plan the development of testing equipment and test benches, working with the internal tooling department and, if necessary, external suppliers to produce specific equipment.
  • Team Management and Coordination: Coordinate a team of three collaborators responsible for conducting tests, organizing, and monitoring their workload.
  • Interface with External Laboratories: Manage relationships with external laboratories to obtain third-party certifications.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all laboratory activities and guarantee that operations adhere to company procedures and applicable regulations.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of technical testing, such as water testing of valves, nozzles, and spray guns at different pressures and flow rates.
  • Experience in validating performance and mechanical resistance of components.
  • Knowledge of specific tests, including vibration and noise testing.
  • Experience in resource management and team coordination.
  • Ability to interact with clients and suppliers, both for information gathering and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations related to laboratory activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in component manufacturing and experimental laboratory coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and resource management.
  • Teamwork skills, result-oriented mindset, and strong inclination for training and professional growth.
  • Fluent English.

  • Define and implement strategies to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage a team of 100-150 employees, handling production seasonality challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics departments to improve processes and address potential issues.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee investments and maintenance in synergy with Speed France.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of extrusion, plastic molding, and packaging processes.
  • Proficiency in production management software and MS Office suite.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 10 years of experience in production management roles within the plastic molding industry.
  • Degree in Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong and proven leadership, with the ability to motivate and manage structured teams.
